kan een palladin een assasin zijn? of op een assasin manier werken (eerloos en tegen zijn code)
om bv een evil ruler te doden?
Hangt helemaal af van waar je speelt wat je speelt & wie je DM is.
In DnD. Alignment wil zeggen dat je dat voornamelijk doet, dus wat betreft alignment kan n palladin evil acts uitvoeren (maar niet te vaak). maar hoe zit t dan me zn code. Well...
De paladin code van 3.0 / 3.5 DnD:
Do's & Donts.
Do:
*Respect Legitimate authority.
*Act with honor (no lying, no cheating, dont use poisons, etc.)
*Help those in need (provided they dont use the help for chaotic or evil ends)
*Punish those that harm or threathen innocents.
*oppose evil
*speak truth
*keep your word
*speak out against injustice
*Punish the Guilty
*Kill fiends and demons.
*Worship good gods/celestials.
*Show mercy. (Mercy means giving Quarter to who surrender and treating criminals and prisoners with compassion and even kindness, in hopes they may one day turn to good once more)
*Be forgiving. (If an evil character makes an attempt to repent, and lead a better life, a good character is called upon to encourage the reformed villain, and let the past be the past, and not hold the char's evil deeds against him.)
*Bring hope.
*Attempt to Redeem evil. (To bring an evil Character to see the error of his ways, wich will not only stop him from doing evil, but in turn try and do good instead, granting that person once more a chance on the holy afterlife, instead of eternal damnation.
Dont:
*Ever commit a act of evil willingly.
*Speak lies.
*Cheat. (Cheating as in breaking the rules for personal gain)
*Steal.
*Betray. (such an act involves earning someones trust and then using that trust against him)
*Muder (Murder is the act of killing an intelligent creature for a nefarious purpose: Theft, personal gain, etc. Killing a evil creature to stop it from doing harm is not a evil act (it might be unlawfull tough) )
*Take Vengeance to far. (an Act of vengeance does not have to be evil (might be unlawfull), But vengeance at any cost can quickly lead to evil and should thus be avoided.)
*Worship evil gods and/or demons.
*Animate the dead or create undead.
*Cast evil spells. (unless you succeed in using them for good, but even then it should be used sparringly for the use of such spells can only lead to corruption)
*Damn or harm souls.
*Summon or help fiends/demons.
*Create evil. (creatures spells or items)
*Use others for personal gain.
*Bully or/and Cow innocents
*Bring despair.
*tempt others to do evil/wrong.
*Torture.
Gray zones:
Do good ends justify evil means?
No. (whether or not Good ends can justify evil), They certainly cannot make evil means any less evil.)
Is an evil act by accident, evil?
No, if you didnt know the risks/what you where doing. (accidental evil)
Yes, if you knew the something wasnt right but did it anyway. (evil caused by your negligence)
Yes, If you knew the risk but where over confident in your skills (evil caused by your recklessness)
If placed before a choice where the only choice is either of two evils (some evil maniac placing you in front of sadistic choice), is picking the lesser of those two evils, evil?
Yes. (how do i solve that then? Thats your problem.)
